Apostolic Life Church is a Church that holds to the teachings of the Bible, the Word of God. We are the first United Pentecostal Church of Adelaide, founded by Brother and Sister Bettis, missionaries from the United Pentecostal Church International, who traveled from the United States of America to Adelaide, South Australia in 1973 to establish a Church.
We believe God created the world and all that exists. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be the Savior of all humanity. Jesus Christ was crucified on the Cross of Calvary, taking the punishment God had set for sin, which is death, for all of humanity. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the Cross for us, was buried, rose again on the third day, and before ascending to heaven, was seen by and taught many people. Because of this we have a way back to God. The Word of God tells us that God wants to give each of us a fresh start! A new beginning!
Through the power of the Spirit of God, we can be free of sin, fear, addictions and depression. We can be healed of a broken heart, our bodies can be healed - there is nothing God cannot do!

John 3 : 16 - 17 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

what we believe
The New Testament Church was born on the Day of Pentecost and the Bible says of those who followed the preaching of the Apostles after they were born again “..they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Act 2 : 42). We must not change the Apostolic message, but we must be changed by the Apostolic message.
We believe that there is only one true God (Deuteronomy 6 : 4). God created heaven and earth and all that lives. God has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Saviour), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit in the Church today).
We believe in the New Birth as taught by Jesus Christ (John 3 : 3 - 5), and preached and taught in Acts 2 : 36 – 42 and throughout the book of Acts:
We believe that Christians are called to live Godly lives (1 Peter 1 : 13 – 19). Every believer is called to live a life that honours Jesus and is a witness of His great love.
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God ministers to His Church through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government (1 Corinthians 12 : 1 – 11).
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ. At the appointed time, Jesus Christ will return to earth and take His church to be with Him (1 Corinthians 15 : 50 – 54).
We believe in eternal judgment. We will all be judged by God and receive eternal life or eternal death for what we do in this life (Matthew 25 : 31 – 46).
So now the question is, are we ready to meet Jesus Christ?

- Repentance - true remorse and turning away from sin.
- Baptism - full immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ
- Infilling of the Holy Spirit – initially evidenced by speaking in unknown tongues.

Online Bible Study
What does the Bible actually teach us?
This short online Bible study will give you an understanding of the basis of what God has for you today. The Apostles learnt from Jesus Christ and the life they lived is available to you today. We've got to believe as they believed, we've got to follow Jesus as they followed Jesus, and to do that we need to read it in the Bible and believe it for what it is. The Bible says that those who believed in the first Church "continued steadfastly in the Apostles' teaching" (Acts 2:42), they led an Apostolic Life! |
